Colorado Highway Reopens After Snow, High Winds

FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) — The Colorado State Patrol has reopened U.S. Highway 285 between Fairplay and Kenosha Pass after high winds and blowing snow closed it on Friday.

The state patrol is urging drivers to take it slow after visibility was reduced to zero earlier in the day.

National Weather Service spokesman Chad Gimmestad said Friday gusts of nearly 90 miles per hour were reported in Summit County. Forecasters say the high winds could continue through Saturday morning because of a storm moving across the northern Rocky Mountains.
