Colorado Has Some Of The Most Active Voters In The U.S.

DENVER (CBS4)- Colorado appears to have some of the most active voters in the country, which could place more emphasis on the battleground state in the upcoming election.

New research from the Pew Charitable Trusts survey shows the state has the highest voter registration in the U.S. with more than 86 percent of the population registered to vote.

Colorado ranks third in voter turnout according to research analyzed from the 2014 election cycle. The study also shows that the number of mail-in ballots rejected is very low, coming in 48th.

Other states rank higher in the survey's election performance index because other states have adopted easier methods for people to cast ballots.
