Colorado Gets Its First Indoor Water Park Resort

DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado will receive its first indoor water park resort in 2016 in Colorado Springs.

'Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs' will be a 380,000 square foot resort including entertainment and lodging.

65,000 square feet will be dedicated to indoor water park fun, including include a five-story funnel slide, a wave pool, and a multi-level aquatic jungle gym that holds the massive tipping water bucket.

The resort will hold 311 guest suites, each of which can accommodate at least six people.

Other attractions include an indoor play park with a ropes course, climbing wall, and miniature golf; a kids' spa that offers ice-cream and pedicures; a mini bowling alley; and an evening show plus story time, pajamas permitted.

The resort touts weatherproof, year-round fun and is expected to open in late 2016. It will be located 15 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs, less than an hour from Denver, off Interstate 25.
