Colorado Sending Firefighters And SuperTanker To California

DENVER (CBS4) - Firefighters from multiple agencies in Colorado are headed to California to help fight the wildfires raging northwest of Los Angeles.

Colorado is sending 17 fire engines (Type 3 and 6) to support California wildfire operations, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.

Four West Metro firefighters and an engine headed out Wednesday morning.

The Grand Junction Fire Department is also sending a crew.

The Global Supertanker based in El Paso County is also joining the fight.
