Colorado Day Marks State's 138th Anniversary

DENVER (AP) — Friday is Colorado Day, marking the 138th anniversary of the Centennial State.

The History Colorado Center museum in Denver is offering free admission both Friday and Saturday to mark the occasion. Colorado Proud, which promotes homegrown produce, is also hosting a farmer's market at the museum on Friday.

Visitors will be able to see performances by American Indian dancers and Japanese-American drummers and also try making adobe bricks and panning for gold.

Colorado joined the union as the 38th state on Aug. 1, 1876.
