Wednesday morning was the coldest it's been when they've painted the purple stripe down Blake Street. A crew used two heating machines to heat up the street so the paint would stick.

"Denver is such a sports town right? Even when, no matter what our record is we just always love our Rockies and that's what's so great about the Colorado spirit and Colorado citizens. It's our team," said Denver City Councilwoman Judy Montero.

The Colorado Rockies home opener will be on Friday at 2:10 p.m.
