Clues Emerge In Series Of Shattered Car Windows

DENVER (CBS4) - Numerous occasions of car windows suddenly shattering while driving in Weld County occurred last month.

There were 22 incidents in April, and investigators now say that in two of those cases someone fired a BB gun at vehicles. Those two incidents did not occur on a highway.

Along Highway 14, there are two unconfirmed reports of weapons fired. In addition there is one report of a slingshot along Interstate 25, and one report of a window shattered by a paintball on I-25.

There is one confirmed occurrence of shots fired, in which the driver was injured. In no other incident were bullet holes or spent rounds found.

Sixteen shattered windows appear to be related to road debris or temperature changes.
