Former Broncos Running Back Clinton Portis Among Ex-NFL Players Facing Federal Fraud Charges

(CBS)- A former Denver Broncos running back is one of 10 former NFL players hit with serious federal fraud charges. All-Pro running back Clinton Portis is part of that group.

Prosecutors claim there was nearly $4 million worth of fraudulent claims for high cost medial equipment the men never actually purchased.

Portis is accused of falsely claiming he bought a cryotherapy unit for which he was reimbursed $50,000.

Portis is also charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and health care fraud.
