Clear Creek Recreation Restrictions Lifted

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The restrictions on Clear Creek have been lifted in Jefferson County. The restrictions have also been lifted from the creek in Golden.

The restrictions were put in place on June 12 from Highway 119 along the canyon through the City of Golden to Vanover Park.

All single-chambered air inflated devices like belly boats, inner tubes and single chambered rafts as well as body surfers and swimming were restricted because of the high flow rate of the creek.

Although the restrictions have been lifted and the risk has diminished, the water could still be dangerous. People who go into Clear Creek are encouraged to use extreme caution in the swift water.
