Computer-Generated Image Of Murder Victim Leads To Her Identity
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman's body found dumped along a rural road in Clear Creek County has been positively identified as a missing young woman from Aurora.
"It was back on April 8 they got a page of a possible body that had been dumped up on Colorado 103," Cpt. George Weidler with the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said.
Dozens of tips came in about the unidentified woman after a computer-generated image of the victim was released by investigators last month.
"People identified her just from looking at the picture," Weidler said. "We got dozens of tips and information on who our victim was."
She has been identified as Queen Ashby, 20, from Aurora. She was the mother of a young child.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, a driver discovered her body on the side of the highway.
"It's still an ongoing investigation; still talking with people and moving forward," Weidler said.
Investigators are not releasing her cause of death, but do say she may have been the victim of a homicide and they believe she was killed at another location.
There is a "very active investigation" into her disappearance, discovery and death.
