Butler is accused of writing checks to himself from the victim's account. He allegedly stole approximately $200,000 worth over six years.

"All immediate family members have been contacted by the state and if anyone has questions about a loved one they should contact the State of Colorado Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division," Heidi Prentup with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The Timberline Lodge will remain open until family members have the opportunity to find appropriate living arrangements.

"The investigation has not uncovered any situations where the clients were at physical risk," Prentup said.
