Christie In Colorado Campaigning For Beauprez

DENVER (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie is back in Colorado to campaign for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez.

Christie and Beauprez will be visiting a charter school in Littleton outside Denver on Friday morning.

The New Jersey governor and potential presidential contender has been campaigning for GOP candidates in his role as head of the Republican Governors Association. Polls show the race between Beauprez and Democratic incumbent Gov. John Hickenlooper to be close, and Christie said during a fundraising visit to Colorado in July that the contest is winnable for his party.

The RGA has paid for television ads attacking Hickenlooper for his decision to grant an indefinite stay of execution to Nathan Dunlap, who was convicted for the 1993 slayings of four people at an Aurora Chuck E. Cheese's.
