Children's Museum Of Denver Expanding To Meet Growing Membership

DENVER (CBS4) – Kids and parents may be excited to learn that the Children's Museum of Denver is expanding.

Kids were part of the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday morning.

The expansion will add two new wings and nearly double the square footage of the museum.

The addition will include new exhibits like a hands-on water lab, art studio and an outdoor experience.

"Since 2003, our attendance has grown 74 percent. From 200,000 in 2003 to 350,000 last year, it's crowded," said Children's Museum President Mike Yankovich.

The expansion will also include more parking for museum visitors. The new wings should be finished by the end of next year.
