Child In Stroller, 2 Women Hurt After Being Struck By Car In Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- A woman was critically injured along with a child in a stroller and another woman, when they were struck by a car on the sidewalk on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at 138th and Holly Street. The child and two women were on the sidewalk when one of the cars in a two vehicle crash came onto the sidewalk and hit them.

Both cars were driven by 17-year-old males.

The 1½ year old child was rushed to the hospital along with an elderly female. The other adult female was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. Her family told witnesses at the crash scene that she is pregnant.

"I did take off my jacket and put it under her head because it was bleeding... Her face was in the mud and snow," said witness Hamaya Gharibyar. "I felt really bad."

Paramedics credited the witnesses who helped the victims before emergency crews arrived.

Police blocked off Holly Street during the investigation. Police have not said what charges the drivers will face.
