Chatwood To Start For Rockies On Tuesday V. Giants

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tyler Chatwood is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants, Rockies Manager Walt Weiss said Sunday.

Chatwood, out since June 18 with a back strain, threw five shutout innings in a rehab start for the Class A-Modesto Nuts on Thursday night, throwing 66 pitches.

Chatwood (8-4, 3.15) had won five of his six previous starts for Colorado before the back strain forced him out of a 9-6 loss to Miami on June 18.

The Rockies will make a roster move on Tuesday to clear a spot for Chatwood, who will be activated from the 15-day disabled list at that time.
