Chain Reaction On Highway 85 Sends 3 To Hospital

GILCREST, Colo. (CBS4)- A chain reaction on Highway 85 that started with an auto-pedestrian accident sent three people to the hospital on Thursday night.

The initial accident happened in Gilcrest about 40 miles northeast of Denver in Weld County. Police in Platteville say a driver struck a pedestrian on Highway 85 about 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

That driver and another driver stopped to help and they were both struck by a third vehicle.

All three were rushed to the hospital. All drivers involved stayed on scene.

Officers are interviewing those involved before recommending whether any charges are filed.

The identities of those involved have not been released.
