Centennial Man Who Fell From Roof On Notre Dame Campus Had Been Drinking

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- A Centennial man who fell to his death one day before graduating from the University of Notre Dame had been drinking before the accident.

Billy Meckling, 21, died after falling from the roof of the sports arena. Police said the roof was slippery from recent rain.

Meckling's blood alcohol content was 50 percent higher than the legal limit, according to WSBT, a CBS station in South Bend, Ind.

Meckling was with a group of friends when he fell about 35 feet. His death has been ruled an accident.

He went to Notre Dame after graduating from Regis Jesuit High School four years ago. His death came just one day before graduation.
