CDOT To Discuss Possible New Toll Lane On C-470

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4) – The Colorado Department of Transportation on Tuesday evening will discuss the possibility of building a new toll lane on either direction of C-470 from Interstate 25 to Wadsworth Boulevard.

The express lanes project is estimated to cost $240 million. The public town hall will center on how to pay for it.

CDOT says there is not enough revenue forecast from the toll lanes to attract a public-private partner. That means they are going to need to look elsewhere for the funds.

Each day more than 100,000 vehicles pass through that stretch of C-470 and CDOT estimates by 2025 that number will swell to 708,000.

The meeting is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at the Highlands Ranch Metro District located at 62 Plaza Drive.
