CDOT Says Winter Travel In The I-70 Mountain Corridor Saw Improvements
DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Transportation says improvements to the Interstate 70 mountain corridor reduced the number of crashes and delays last winter.
Those improvements included widening the Twin Tunnels, adding snowplow escorts, and the launch of the Change Your Peak Drive campaign. The campaign encouraged drivers to travel during off-peak times.
CDOT says the changes reduced injury and deadly crashes by 35 percent. It also reduced eastbound delays by 26 percent.
