CDOT Celebrates Milestone In 6th Avenue Project

DENVER (CBS4)- The 6th Avenue bridge project was completed eight months early and the Colorado Department of Transportation celebrated that milestone on Wednesday.

Crews completed work on six new bridges and makeovers on six others between February 2014 and October. The project cost $98 million.

Some of the most noticeable changes include the new interchange to Interstate 25 as well as the bridge to Federal Boulevard.

"We all know how important the 6th Avenue corridor is, it brings people from the western suburbs to downtown and it takes folks who live downtown out to share and enjoy our beautiful mountains," said Public Works COO George Delaney.
