CDOT Blasting At Twin Tunnels Brings I-70 Traffic To A Halt

IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Interstate 70 traffic ground to a halt at times on Thursday as Colorado Department of Transportation crews blasted away rock inside the Twin Tunnels near Idaho Springs.

CDOT crews have been blasting all week. They're paving the way for adding a third westbound lane to the busy interstate sometime in the future.

There is no work scheduled for this weekend but the blasting won't be complete until the end of the year.
