CBS4's Ed Greene Plays Role In New 'Dixie' Play

DENVER (CBS4) Dixie took over the Colorado Weather Center as Ed Greene recorded the forecast featured in her new play "Dixie's Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull..."

"Where do I come in?" Ed asked Dixie.

"Well, so because it's happenin' during a storm ... so then we have you come on and you're gonna be telling everyone ... so when they don't understand what's goin' on…then you tell them what's goin' on," Dixie responded in her characteristic southern drawl.

Dixie is famous as the star of "Dixie's Tupperware Party," a raunchy and raucous peek inside a Tupperware Party and the world of Dixie Longate.  Now, Dixie is premiering her new show at the Garner Galleria Theatre. (The full name of the show is "Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding A Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things I Learned While Drinking Last Thursday.")

"The audience sort of gets stranded in my honky-tonk mobile. And I talk about the things that I was learning when I was with my best friend and we was getting drunk the week before," Dixie explained.

The play is set during a hurricane, and so Ed Greene provides weather updates throughout the show. As with Tupperware Party, you can expect a lot of audience interaction. Even if you're sitting in the back of the house, Dixie makes you part of the fun.

"It's just crazy and fun and raucous. And it's all just sort of good life lessons to take out with you into the world," Dixie drawled.
