CBS' Super Bowl 50 Coverage Has Been Years In The Making

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers started their Super Bowl preparations just under two weeks ago. CBS and CBS Sports Network have been planning their coverage for years.

The day after the 2014 Super Bowl in New Jersey, a team from CBS and CBS Sports hopped on a plane to San Francisco to start laying the ground work for their Super Bowl coverage.

After assessing the area and figuring out what shots and scenery they wanted to showcase, the work really began. For two years they planned and plotted how everything would look.

Their visions included a mini field, a platform for local CBS stations to work from, a Golden Gate Bridge zipline, and a CBS Sports set.

Vice President of Set Production for CBS Sports Tyler Hale says hundreds of people, from production to technical crews helped build the city by the Bay Bridge.

And when the whole thing finally came together the week before the game, he said it was extremely satisfying.

Super Bowl City will be a set location for the CBS Pregame Show on Super Bowl Sunday, along with three other sets in Santa Clara.
