Castle Rock Residents Put Open Carry Ordinance On Hold

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - A decision by Castle Rock's city council to repeal the ban on concealed weapons has now been put on hold.

Residents in opposition to the ordinance, which would allow people to openly carry firearms in public, started a petition drive to put the vote to residents.

The petition drive collected enough valid signatures from Castle Rock residents, forcing the city council to reconsider their decision.

The council has only 40 days to decide whether to withdraw the open carry ordinance or set a date for a public vote.
