Case Dropped Against Aron Ralston's Girlfriend
DENVER (AP) - The domestic violence case against Aron Ralston's girlfriend has been dropped after he failed to show up to testify against her.
Vita Shannon had been set to stand trial Wednesday on charges stemming from a December argument with Ralston, whose self-amputation ordeal was made into the movie "127 Hours." Assistant City Attorney Vince DiCroce said Friday that Ralston didn't show up to testify so the charges against Shannon were dropped.
Police documents allege Shannon struck Ralston twice in the back of the head with her fists, and that he shoved her as she was leaving her home. They have an infant daughter together and the documents said they were arguing over another one of Ralston's children.
Both were arrested but charges against Ralston were soon dropped.
