Car Strikes Deputy, Trooper In Snowy Crash On I-25

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado State Patrol trooper and a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy were taken to the hospital when they were struck and pinned by a vehicle on Interstate 25.

The accident happened in Castle Rock near the Tomah Road exit at approximately 7:30 a.m. Several lanes of the highway were closed as emergency crews responded to the scene.

The injuries to the two officers were described as minor.

The conditions on the road were icy and snowpacked at the time of the crash.

The driver was cited for careless driving causing injury.
