Car Catches Fire, Explodes On Interstate 25 After Hitting Deer

LARKSPUR, Colo. (CBS4) - A car caught fire on Interstate 25 in Douglas County early Wednesday morning after hitting a deer. The vehicle then exploded, sending flames onto the grassy area next to the highway.

The traffic incident happened near the Greenland Road exit just south of Larkspur.

The flames were quickly put out by fire crews.

Investigators say the driver struck a deer and the fire started quickly after.

No one in the car was hurt.
