Cancer Patient's Pee Wee Football Team Heading To The Pop Warner Super Bowl

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Pee Wee football team from Fort Collins with a special motivation this season is headed to the Pop Warner Super Bowl.

The Northern Colorado Outlaws have been playing without a starting player. Jackson Simpson, 11, is undergoing chemotherapy for a tumor found in his chest. His chemotherapy is working so far.

The team won the regional championship game 20-0 on Sunday against the College Station Raiders in Texas.

"Everybody was emotional about Jackson, and when we found out we practiced harder and we hit harder," Simpson's teammate Mason Shattuck said before Sunday's game.

The team will leave on Thursday to compete in the Super Bowl next Saturday in Orlando, Florida.
