Cancer Patient's Pee Wee Football Team Nearly Wins It All

DENVER (CBS4) - A Pee Wee football team from Fort Collins with a special motivation this season got the chance to play in the Pop Warner Super Bowl.

The Northern Colorado Outlaws had been playing without starting player Jackson Simpson. The 11-year-old is undergoing chemotherapy for a tumor in his chest.

The team had a huge winning streak that took them all the way to the Final Four. Unfortunately the Outlaws lost the final Friday. Head coach Dan Cover told ESPN that win or lose he couldn't be more proud of his team.

The Outlaws lost to a team from Missouri but they did get to spend the week in Orlando, Florida, and go to Disney World.

Simpson's chemotherapy is working so far.
