Campground At Red Feather Lakes Closed After 200 Trees Downed By Storm
RED FEATHER LAKES, Colo. (CBS4) - There were evacuations due to weather near Red Feather Lakes northwest of Fort Collins on Thursday.
Campers had to get to safer ground away from the Bellaire Lake Campground after the storm downed more than 200 trees in the Roosevelt National Forest. The campground, Molly Lake Trailhead and designated dispersed campsites 6-12 along the Manhattan Road had to be closed.

The tornado warning went into effect shortly after 2 p.m. for areas around Red Feather Lakes and Crystal Lakes, although nobody spotted a twister touching down.
"The Roosevelt Hotshots, Canyon Lakes Ranger District firefighters, and other district staff are working in the area. Once the trees are cleared (including standing trees that pose a hazard), the trail and dispersed sites will be reopened," Reghan Cloudman with the U.S. Forest Service said.
