Campers, Trailers Destroyed In Lake George Tornado

LAKE GEORGE, Colo. (AP) — One of the twisters that touched down in Park County destroyed several campers and trailers, heavily damaged at least one home and uprooted large trees.

Sue Cranston told The Gazette that she saw the twister destroy six mobile homes as it moved through an RV park near Lake George on Sunday.

Undersheriff Monte Gore said several trailers were destroyed in the park but didn't have an exact count. In addition, he said at least one home beyond the park was heavily damaged. Full-grown evergreen trees were ripped out of the ground by the twister.

Another tornado that touched down near Fairplay damaged the roof of a home.

No injuries were reported in either twister.
