California Woman Hopes To Come To Denver For Anorexia Treatment

DENVER (CBS4) - A woman from Southern California who is suffering from an extreme case of anorexia is turning to the Internet for help in coming to Denver for treatment.

Rachel Farrokh weighs only 40 pounds. She has been suffering from the eating disorder for a decade.

Farrokh, 37, posted a video online asking for help. The video went viral and donations started pouring in through a GoFundMe page.

In just days, more than $120,000 was donated to help her treatment costs at Denver Health Medical Center.

"I can't express my gratitude to everyone who is sharing and contributing to help us get off to a good start. This is wonderful," said Farrokh.

Farrokh's husband left his job as a personal trainer to help care for his wife full-time.

He said Denver Health is the only hospital that can help her because her weight has reached a critical low.
