Officials with the Rio Blanco County Sheriff's office wrote on their Facebook page that the fire is growing amid hot, dry and breezy conditions.

"We had some pretty high winds yesterday that really pushed the fire and it grew to 250 to 300 acres yesterday alone," Blanco District Ranger Curtis Keetch said.

Some areas in the White River National Forest are closed due to the fire.

Keetch said resources for fire managers are getting spread thin, which makes the job harder.

"Another big challenge that we're having is even getting logistical support, feeding the crews and having those support mechanisms in place so that they can do their suppression operations," he said.

Firefighters from as far away as Missouri have come to Colorado to help battle wildfires here.
