Police Urge Gun Owners To Turn In Bump Stocks After Ban

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are asking gun owners to turn over bump stocks after the city council voted to ban the devices.
The bump stock device received national attention after it was used by the shooter in the Las Vegas massacre to modify his weapon.
Violation of the ordinance will carry a maximum fine of $999 and up to 180 days in jail.
The update to Denver's 1989 assault weapons ban also limits magazine capacity to 15 rounds, making it compliant with Colorado state law.
