Bulldozer Plows Into Home

DENVER (CBS4) - A bulldozer plowed into a home in Denver's Green Valley Ranch neighborhood on Friday afternoon and destroyed it.

The accident happened at 47th Avenue and Ventura Street, and no one was inside the home at the time.

Firefighters said the equipment operator may have had a medical issue. The bulldozer traveled 100 to 200 yards and across a street before crashing into the backside of the home.

The driver was treated for minor injuries but he is expected to be okay.

No one was inside the home at the time. Building officials were brought in to check the structural integrity of the home, and condemned it.

Luis Ramos lives next door to the home and was leaving for work when it happened. He said he's thankful no one was hurt.

"All I could think of was we have eight children during the day that we take care of, and all it would have taken was a slight turn towards our house and it would have been right through our front door," he said.

The owner of the home rents it out. The tenant wasn't anywhere near the residence at the time.
