Building Where Lodo Shooting Took Place To Reopen

DENVER (CBS4) - The Alliance Center will reopen for business Thursday after a deadly shooting took place there Tuesday.

The office building houses several different companies and organizations whose operations were put on hold when a gunman entered the building Tuesday.

Mickey Russell entered the building where his estranged wife worked, and fatally shot her before taking his own life. Cara Russell, former mayor of Buena Vista, had filed for divorce from Mickey in April.

Many of those who worked inside were alerted to gunshots and ran from the building, unaware if it was an active shooter situation.

The Alliance Center opens at 7:30 a.m. and grief counselors will be on hand as people return to work. A vigil will be held for Cara Russell Thursday night.
