Building Under Construction Catches Fire

DENVER (CBS4)- Firefighters in Denver responded to a fire at a building under construction in downtown on Wednesday morning. The building was evacuated.

The fire at 15th and California was putting out black smoke. Firefighters had it completely out just a little after noon and were working hot spots.

Denver Fire tweeted an update on the fire.

It is unclear whether anyone was inside the building. Two workers on the construction site were injured.

The source of the fire was pinpointed to the fifth floor but cause of the fire has not been determined.

Fire crews urge drivers to avoid the area. Road closures include 15th Street for several blocks surrounding California. There have been some light rail service disruptions near the fire.
