Buckely Airmen Deploy To South Korea In F-16s

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- F-16 fighter jets deployed from Buckley Air Force Base to South Korea.

Airmen from the 140th Wing of the Colorado National Guard took off Thursday morning.

The National Guard says the deployment shows the country's continuing commitment to security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Once they're there they'll be doing continuation training which is basically flying missions, like they would here at home at Buckley, but it gives them an opportunity to with allies Public Affairs Officer 140th Wing Capt. Kinder Blacke.

The jets will make a brief stop in Hawaii and continue onto South Korea.
