Brush Fire Claims Residence In Garfield County

GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters were battling a brush fire in Garfield County near the town of Rulison Sunday afternoon.

According to the Garfield Country Sheriff's Office, the fire was reported at 1 p.m. near County Road 320 and it was visible from Interstate 70.

The fire is reported to be approximately 25 to 30 acres.

"A helicopter was ordered and began doing water lifts and drops from the Colorado River," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

One residence was lost in the fire but no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
