Brush Fire Burns Near Bluff Lake Nature Center
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)
- A grass fire burned near the border of Stapleton and Aurora on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire burned in the City of Aurora open space near North Havana Way and Lima Street. The fire spread to the Bluff Lake Nature Center and burned some of the fence and grassy areas.
It is unclear what started the fire. The size of the fire is about 10 acres.
Copter4 flew over the fire where fire crews were putting out hot spots. The fire charred a grassy area near the nature center along Sand Creek.
South Metro Fire Rescue sent resources to help Aurora firefighters. Crews continued to put out hot spots at 3:30 p.m.

Isabella Bird Community School located about two blocks away at 26th and Lima will release students as scheduled but students have an indoor dismissal because of the smoke.
