Broomfield High Student In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Vehicle

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) – A 16-year-old Broomfield High School student is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning.

According to Broomfield police, the student was hit in the 1200 block of Daphne Street at approximately 11:30 a.m.

"It has been determined that a 16-year-old male was standing near the rear driver side door of a vehicle that was parked on the east side of Daphne Street when he was struck by a northbound vehicle, driven by a 17 year old male," police said in a statement.

The victim was taken to the hospital and has been listed in critical condition.

The driver, who wasn't injured, stopped and waited for police. Police said the driver attends a school in Lafayette.

No names have been released.

The Boulder Valley School District will have members of their Trauma Response Team available at Broomfield High School at 3 p.m. to speak with staff and students as needed.
