Broncos Start Making Cuts Before Saturday's Deadline

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos have started to make some of their cuts from 75 players down to 53.

So far the big names we are waiting on are Mark Sanchez, Ronnie Hillman and Kapri Bibbs.

Their status appears to be in limbo as the team is probably also talking with other teams about possible trades.

Here are some of the notable names that have reportedly been cut in advance of Saturday's 2 p.m. deadline:

Juwan Thompson (credit: CBS)

Juwan Thompson - Thompson was on the Super Bowl 50 roster.

Henry Melton - The defensive lineman is a former Pro Bowler.

Eddie Yarbrough (linebacker) and John Tidwell (cornerback) both played high school football in Colorado. Yarbrough played at Grandview High School and Tidwell played at Rangeview High School.

Cornerback Taurean Nixon was a seventh round round pick in 2015.
