ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (The Sports Xchange) - The Denver Broncos filled the roster spot of injured nose tackle Phil Taylor on Sunday by signing defensive end Billy Winn to a contract.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, which placed Taylor on injured reserve after the 28-year-old sustained a left knee injury during drills on Friday.

Winn, 27, collected 14 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 12 games with the Indianapolis Colts last season before being placed on injured reserve.

A sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft, Winn has recorded 92 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and four fumble recoveries in 52 career contests with the Cleveland Browns and the Colts.

Taylor, who was a first-round selection in the 2011 draft, has notched 109 tackles and seven sacks in 44 career games with the Browns.
