Broncos Cheerleaders Ditch Pom-Poms, Pick Up Power Tools

DENVER (CBS4)- Broncos cheerleaders ditched the pom-poms on Thursday and picked up power tools to build homes with hundreds of other women.

It's all part of Women Build Week, the first-ever of its kind for Habitat for Humanity.

The cheerleaders joined more than 175 other women to help build two new homes for families in need.

"I've done some volunteer work but I've definitely never built a house before so this is new for me," said Broncos Cheerleader Nikki.

"Definitely bending a lot of nails and having to redo a few of them… which is fine, it's fun!" said Broncos Cheerleader Kendal.

The volunteers plan to have all the framework completed by Monday.

This is the first of six builds sponsored by the Broncos this year.
