Brock Osweiler To Start Against Patriots Sunday

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Brock Osweiler will start at quarterback for the Broncos on Sunday night against the Patriots.

Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak made the announcement early Monday afternoon, following the Broncos 17-15 win on Sunday over the Bears.

"We think this is best for Peyton and our football team right now," Kubiak said. He wouldn't address whether Peyton Manning would suit up for the game.

He said Manning is currently in North Carolina getting his foot looked at by an expert. He said the decision to have Manning travel for a second opinion on his plantar fasciitis was made over the weekend.

"(Manning) is doing everything he can possibly do to get himself healthy and get himself back on the field," Kubiak said.

Osweiler threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago on Sunday.
