Breckenridge Counts Votes In Pot Shop Showdown

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) - Election officials tallied votes in Breckenridge on Tuesday night to determine whether the mountain town will allow marijuana shops in its tourist-heavy downtown areas.

The town asked residents in a special election if they want pot shops on Breckenridge's venerable Main Street and other locations heavily trafficked by visitors.

Opponents say marijuana shops ruin the town's image. Right now, there's one business that claims it's very popular with tourists.

The town council will make the final decision whether to allow the shops.
