Boys, Mother Remembered At Emotional Service

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - Friends and family members gathered at St. Philip and St. James Episcopal Church in Littleton on Tuesday to remember the mother and her two young children who were found shot to death in their minivan.

Autopsies ruled that Jennifer Laber, 38, her son Ethan, 5, and Adam, 3, all died from single gunshot wounds.

The boys' father spoke about the moment the police came to his door with the unthinkable news.

"Toys and treasure boxes lay beside me as they spoke those words. There was a numbness but not from lack of feeling, it was from feeling everything at once," said Ryan Laber.

Officers discovered their bodies Wednesday in the van that was parked outside of a vacant business in Lone Tree.

Laber said his wife suffered from depression. He and those close to the family hope talking about it raises awareness of mental illness, especially during the holidays.
