Boulder Reservoir Swim Area Closed Due To Bacteria

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- The Boulder Reservoir swim area has been closed because of elevated levels of bacteria.

The swim area, located at 5565 N. 51st Street, will remain closed until at least Thursday at 5 p.m.

Swimming was temporarily suspended on Wednesday afternoon as a precaution after a routine water sampling test determined bacteria levels to be elevated. The increased levels are believed to be a result of rain runoff.

The reservoir swim area will reopen once bacteria levels are reduced.

For more information, call the Boulder Reservoir at 303-441-3461.
