Boulder Man Dies Of Injuries After Gunfight With Deputy

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says a man who was shot by a deputy has died.

Investigators say 37-year-old Adrian Shaffer, of Boulder, was agitated and trying to "pick fights" with passing motorists on U.S. Highway 287 south of von Sept. 10. When the deputy arrived, authorities say Shaffer pulled a handgun and opened fire. Deputy Teri Javes returned fire and was not injured in the shooting.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office is investigating, along with a Boulder County shooting investigation team.
