Boulder Creek Drowning Victim's Debit Card Used In Iowa
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Investigators working on the case of a man's drowning in Boulder Creek want to know more about how the victim's debit card was used at a convenience store several states away.
Gavin Bolen's body was found floating in Boulder Creek in June. He had wandered away from friends while camping near the creek around midnight on June 23.
Bolen's debit card was used at a convenience store in Adair, Iowa. Two men using the card were captured on surveillance video walking into the store and driving what appears to be an older model, red Toyota 4-Runner.
Investigators believe those men may have been in Boulder in June and that they likely spent time with transients on the Pearl Street Mall and near Boulder Creek. It's not known how they came into possession of Bolen's debit card.
The debit card was also used after Bolen's death at a coffee shop in Lyons.
Investigators are trying to identify the two men and ask that anyone with information about their identities or whereabouts contact Detective Chuck Heidel at 303-441-3339.
